iyṟṟu (p. 48) கிறேன், இயற்றினேன், வே ன், இயற்ற, v. n. To do , make, effect, perform, execute, bring about, cause to take place, discharge a duty or obligation, exercise or use an art, செய்ய. 2. To transact, manage affairs, superintend, cause or excite one to do a thing, நடத்த. 3. To destine, appoint, assign, விதிக்க. (p.) இயற்றலுமீட்டலுங்காத்தலும். Devising means to increase the finances, collecting and keeping them. எல்லாத்தவமுமியற்றி. Performing every species of austerity. ஐந்துவேள்ளியுமியற்றி. Offering the five daily oblations. இறந்தவர்கள்காமுறுமிருங்கடனியற்றி. Duly discharging the debt demanded by departed spirits. இயற்றுதற்கருத்தா--இயற்றும்வினை முதல், s. [in grammar.] The agent, the actor in distinction from ஏவுதற்கருத்தா, commander-as செய்வதன், distinguished from செய்வித்தவன். இயற்றும்வினை, s. [in grammar.] Verbs expressing action, performed by one's self--as செய்தான், in distinction from ஏவும்வினை. 23)

iṟkku (p. 57) கிறேன், இறக்கினேன், வேன், இறக்க, v. a. To lower, let or hand down; put down--a load, &c., தாழ்த்த. 2. To land a person or thing, கரைக்கிறக்க. 3. To unburden the mind, relieve one's self or another of a heavy care, கவலையொழிக்க. 4. To reduce, bring down, கீழ்ப்படுத்த. அவனுடையகொழுப்பிறக்கிப்போடுவேன். I will bring down his fat; i. e. his pride. விஷத்தையிறக்கினான். He has subdued, or counteracted the effect of, the poison. ஒருதரத்திலேயிறக்கிப்போடு. Take it all down at once. இறக்குதுறை. A place of debarkation. இறக்குமதி, s. Importation, goods imported, இறக்குஞ்சரக்கு. சரக்கிறக்க, inf. To unload, to discharge cargo, unlade goods. பித்தமிறக்க, inf. To reduce bile in the system; hence to cure derangement, or any bilious affection. சாராயமிறக்க, inf. To distil liquors. மரக்கலமிறக்க, inf. To launch a vessel. தைலமிறக்க, inf. To distil. சுமையிறக்க, inf. To disburden. உள்ளேயிறக்க, inf. To swallow in small quantities--chiefly applicable to liquids. இறக்கு, v. noun. A letting down, unburdening, discharging, இறக்குகை. 2)

To relax, slacken, relax a spring, &c., to loosen a rope, &c., to soften, mollify, cause another to yield, to work on one's feelings, to cause to relent, move the heart, appease, conciliate; to soften or moisten the throat, chest, &c.--as with liquids, fruits, conserves, இளகச்செய்ய. கையையிளக்கிவிட்டான். He gave liberally. வயிற்றையிளக்க, inf. To relax the bowels by cathartics. 2. To relieve the bowels by discharging their contents. 4)

kō (p. 148) க்கிறேன், த்தேன், ப்பேன், க்க, v. a. [com. கோர்க்க.] To string--as beads, flowers, ola leaves, &c., to file, கோவை செய்ய. 2. To insert and draw--as a string, thread, ratan, &c., in a hole, a mesh, a braid, &c., to thread a needle, &c., கயிறுமுதலியனகோக்க. 3. To compose, compile, arrange, to reduce to order, or system, தொடையாக்க. 4. To clasp or join --as the hands, &c., to lock--as the arms, தொடுக்க, பிணைக்க. 5. To fabricate, as stories, malicious reports, கதைகோக்க. சரங்கோத்ததுபோலேகோத்துவிட்டார். He arranged it as nicely as a string of flowers. கோத்திழைக்க, inf. [prov.] To mend a hole or rent in a mat, a basket, &c. கோத்துக்கொடுக்க, inf. To thread a needle in hedging, roofing, matting, &c., and pass it through to another person. 2. (fig.) To present in an unfavorable light--as the wrong, injury, &c., done to one by his adversary and thereby to aggravate the enmity. கோத்துச்செய்ய, inf. To reduce a theme to system and make a poem. (p.) கோத்துப்பின்ன, inf. To braid, to lace shoes, stays, &c. கோத்துவாங்க, inf. To turn back the shuttle in weaving so as to exclude the border that it may be of a different color. கோத்துவிட, inf. [prov.] To bring into difficulties. 2. To sow discord, to excite enmity. அத்திரங்கோத்துவிடுதல், v. noun. Setting arrows in the bow and discharging them. (p.) நூலில்லாமற்கோத்தல், v. noun. Fabricating a story without any foundation; (lit.) to string without thread. கோப்பு, v. noun. Stringing, inserting, threading, arranging, methodizing. 2. Gaudiness, showiness, gaiety, parade, இடம்பம். 3. (Rott.) Jest, sport, பகிடி. அவன்நலல்கோப்பாயிருக்கிறான். [prov.] He is a rich man. கோப்புகொடுக்க, inf. To prepare all kinds of food. (R.) 4)

nivārṇm (p. 277) s. Abolition, removal, leaving off, நீங்குகை. 2. Abolishment, expiation, termination, extinction, ஒழிப்பு; [ex நி, et வாரணம்.]--Of நிவாரணம் there are அரிஷ்டநிவாரணம், expiration of the unlucky அரிஷ்டம்; ரோகநிவாரணம், cure of disease; கன்மநிவாரணம், removal of former accumulated deeds; சென்மநிவாரணம், termination of births by absorption in the deity; பாவநிவார ணம், expiation of sin; கடன்நிவாரணம், liquidation of a debt; also see in their places. நிவாரணமாகுதல், v. noun. The rumbling of clouds, as கர்்ச்சிதம். மேகக்கூட்டம்--மேகசாலம்--மேகசஞ் சாரம், s. An assemblage of clouds. மேகஸ்தம்பம், s. A pillar of cloud. மேகத்தொனி--மேகமுழக்கம், s. The noise of clouds, or thunder. மேகநாதம், s. Thunder, முழக்கம். 2. Small greens, Amaranthus, சிறுகீரை. (Sa. Meghanada.) மேகநாதன், s. An epithet of Indrajit son of Ravana, and reputed conqueror of Indra, இந்திரசித்து. மேகபடலம், s. An accumulation of clouds. 2. see மேகம், a disease. மேகபந்தி, s. Over-spreading of the clouds. மேகரஞ்சி--மேகவிரஞ்சி, s. A kind of melody, ஓரிராகம். மேகராகக்குறிஞ்சி, s. A melody adapted to a hilly country. மேகவண்ணம்--மேகவர்ணம், s. The color of clouds. மே மேகவண்ணக்குறிஞ்சி, s. A tree, Lawsonia, ஓர்மரம். மேகவண்ணன், s. An epithet of Vishnu from his cloud-like color, விஷ்ணு. மேகவாகனன், appel. n. One whose vehicle is a cloud; the cloud-borne, an epithet of Indra, இந்திரன். மேகாதிபன், s. [in calendars.] The planet that governs the clouds for the year; [ex அதிபன்.] மேகாந்தகாரம், s.
