tī (p. 242) adj. Evil, wicked, sinful. தீக்குணம், s. Evil disposition or practice; vice, evil, துர்க்குணம். Vices are of three classes, of மனம், வாக்கு, and காயம். 1. மனத்தீக்குணம், sins of the mind, as (a) கொலைநினைக்கை, murderous intention; (b) காமப்பற்று, libidinous desire; (c) ஆசை, avarice, ambition. 2. வாக்கின்தீக்குணம், sins of the mouth--as (a) பொய்சொல்லல், lying; (b) கோள்சொல்லல், tale-bearing; (c) கோபித்துச்சொல்லல், angry speaking; (d) பயனில்சொல்லல், trifling or vain discourse. 3. காயத்தீக்குணம், sins of the body--as (a) களவாடப்போதல், thievish practices; (b) வறிதேதொழில்செயல், idleness; (c) கொலை செயல், killing, murder. தீக்குணர், s. pñci (p. 291) s. [prov.] Difficulty, labor, irksomeness, வருத்தம். 2. Irksome feelings, repugnance to activity by lassitude, lazyness or ailment, சோம்பல். (Jaff.) பஞ்சிப்படுதல், v. noun. Another classification is seven-fold, as given in சதுர கராதி, being apparently the venial sins of the Romanists; சித்தசமுன்னதி, or அகங்காரம், pride; 2.அருத்தலோபம், or உலோபம், avarice; 3. காமம், lust, lasciviousness; 4. வைஷம்மியம் or பகை, hatred, enmity; 5. அசனப்பிரியம், போசனப்பிரியம், gluttony; 6. கோபம் or காய்தல், anger, malice; 7.அனுஷ்டணம் or சோம்பல், idleness, laziness. பாதகத்துரோகி, s. A perfidious villain, an infamous wretch, கொடும்பாவி. பாதகன், s. [plu. பாதகர், fem. பாதகத்தி, பாதகி.] A vile, desperate sinner, துரோகி. பாதகன்முகத்திலேவிழிக்கப்படாது. If there be a heavy girdle [from money], there will be fear in the way. கரைமடி, s. A shore-net. தட்டுமடி, s. A deep sea-net. மடிகசக்க--மடிபிசைய, inf. To rub the udder of a cow to fit it for milking. மடிகழுவ, inf. To mollify and wash the udder of a cow after calving. மடிகோல, inf. To make a large lap or fold for the reception of any thing to be given, showing greediness. மடிசுரக்க, inf. To form, as milk in the udder. மடிச்சீலை--மடிப்பை, s. A purse kept in the girdle. மடிபிடி, v. noun. Fisticuffs, scuffle, seizure of one by the waist-cloth. 2. Difficulties and quarrels between persons, சண்டை. மடிபிடிக்க, inf.
