[prov.] The mane of a well-known stanza, believed to have been written during the period of a Tamil Dynasty in Ceylon, foretelling, as it is interpreted, a succession of different foreign powers, and the final restoration of native rule, in those regions. It is as follows: முன்னைக்குளக்கோட்டன்மூட்டுந்திருப்பணியைப்பின்னைப்பரங்கிபிரிப்பனே--மன்னா கேள்--பூனைக் கண்செங்கண்புகைக்கண்ணனாண்டபின்பு--மரனே வடுகாய்வரும். 'The sacred edifices which the king Koolakottan reared, the Portuguese will demolish, listen O king-after the reign of the cat-eyed, the redeyed and the smoke-eyed, O thou deereyed, the Vaduca will succeed.' Stoppage of urine, நீரடைப்பு. நீர்மாங்காய், s. Managoes soaked in water, and dried, forming a kind of pickle, மாங்காயடைகாய். நீர்மீட்டான்--நீர்விட்டான், appel. n. A kind of medicinal creeper. See தண்ணீர் விட்டான். நீர்முகம், s. A ford, a place in a river for bathing, getting water, &c., இறங்கு துறை. 2. The betel-creeper, வெற் றிலைக்கொடி. நீர்வழுக்கை, s. A kind of water-plant, ஓர்நீர்ப்பூடு, Myriophyllum foliosum, L. நீர்வளம், s. Abundance of water, நீர் நிறைவு. நீர்வள்ளி, s. A medicinal creeper, தண் நீர்மீட்டான். 2. As நீர்வல்லி. நீர்வற்ற, inf. To dry up, as water, &c. நீர்வற்றம், v. noun. Ebb of tide. நீர்வற்றல், s. Any thing in which the juice is evaporated by drying, சாரம்வற்றி யது. நீர்வாத்து, s. A kind of fen-duck, or water-bird, ஓர்தாரா, Anas boschos. நீர்வாரம், s. puẕuti (p. 327) s. [poet. பூழ்தி.] Dust, dried earth, pulverized, or fine mould. 2. Powder, தூள். (c.) புழுதியாய்க்கிடக்கிறது. It is all dusty. புழுதிகுடிக்க, inf.
