Most of the meanings of this word have reference to the mind. சாஸ்திரத்திற்கமைந்துநடக்கிறவன், He is one who obeyed the shasters. ஐம்புலனமைந்தவன், s. One who has suppressed the five senses, or to whom the senses are subject. இது என்விசாரணைக்கமைந்த காரியம். It is a matter at my disposal. என்விருப்பத்திற்கமைந்தபடிநடந்தது. It has occurred to my satisfaction. சுகதுக்கம் ஊழின்படி அமையும். Good and evil are appointed according to former character. செயுநீர்மைசெய்யாதமைகலாவாறு. kuḷir (p. 131) -- குளிரு, கிறது, ந்தது, குளிரும், குளிர, v. n. To be cold, chilly, frigid; to be cold to the touch; to be moist, damp, குளிர்கொள்ள. 2. To be cool, to be refreshed, குளிர்ச்சியுற. 3. To be refreshing, gratifying, pleasant, cheering to the touch, sight or hearing; to be engaging, attactive, benignant--as the countenance, இதமாக. 4. To be appeased, consoled, comforted, சாந்தமுற. 5. To die--spoken of death in time of epidemies, when fear of the avenging goddess prevents the use of the proper word, வசூரிமுதலியவியாதியால்மரிக்க. அப்பாவென்றால்உச்சிகுளிருமா. Will merely saying அப்பா afford relief? i. e. not mere words, but actions are necessary. அவன்ஒரு குளிர்ந்தகொள்ளி. He is a coldblodded persons; a man of a fair speech, but an enemy at heart. இப்பொழுதுஎனக்குமனங்குளிர்ந்தது. I am now refreshed, satisfied, gratified, appeased, &c. உச்சிகுளிர்ந்தது. The head has been cooled or refreshed--as on hearing joyful intelligence, &c. எனக்குக்குளிருகின்றது. I feel cold. என்வயிறுகுளிர்ந்ததுபோல உன்மாளிகையுங்குளிர வேண்டும். May you and your family be refreshed as I have been--an expression of thanks for favors received. சரீரமெல்லாங்குளிர்ந்தது. The whole body is refreshed. குளந்தைஅம்மைவார்த்துக்குளிர்ந்துபோயிற்று. The child has died of small-pox. குளிரப்பண்ண--குளிரவைக்க, inf. To cool wines, spirits, &c. 2. To give health, as God in his providence by medicine, &c. சுகசரீரம், s. A healthy constitution in which the three humours are in equilibrium. சுகசரீரி--சுகசீவி, s. A healthy person. சுகசன்னி, s. A fit of apoplexy or tetanus, from unseasonable intercourse. See சன்னி. சுகசெல்வம், s. Health and prosperity, luxury. சுகசெல்வி, s. [mas. சுகசெல்வன்.] A female enjoying the pleasures and luxuries of life. சுகசெய்தி, s. Welfare, state of health, &c., as inquired after. சுகஞ்சுகம், [an auspicious phrase.] Health! health! spoken by a woman in pouring the last water to wash or bathe her child, and sometimes by adults after bathing, &c, மங்கலமொழி. சுகதுக்கம், s. Comforts and troubles, joys and sorrows, as attendant on the present life, or as awarded by the Deity for the actions of former births. சுகதுக்கஞ்சுழல்சக்கரம். Joys and sorrows are a turning wheel. சுகதுக்கி, s. One subject to joy and sorrow, a soul subject to births. (p.) சுகத்தாழ்வு, s. v. noun. Illness, want of sound health. சுகத்துக்குப்போக, inf. There are eight other kinds of benevolence. 1. பிறர்க்குப்பொருள்வரவையுவத்தல், rejoicing in a neighbor's wealth; 2. பிறர்செல்வம்பொறுத்தல், being content in seeing a neighbor's welfare; 3. பிறர்கருமத் திற்குடன்படுதல், assisting in other's business, with interest; 4. தீமைக்கஞ்சல், fearing to do evil; 5. பிறர்கருமமுடிக்கவிரைதல், hastening to assist others; 6. பிறரையந் தீர்த்தல், removing other's doubts; 7. நன் மைகடைப்படித்தல், preserving in doing good; 8. பிறர்துயர்க்கிரங்கல், commiserating the distress of others; sympathizing with the afflicted. 19) *

tēṟu (p. 260) கிறேன், தேறினேன், வேன், தேற, v. n. To recover strength, vigor, &c.,-as persons, beasts, plants, to grow well-as vegetation; to thrive, improve, செழிக்க. 2. To recover from swooning, intoxication, drooping, தெளிய. 3. To be comforted, consoled, solaced, soothed; to recover from fear, to cheer up, take courage, தைரியங்கொள்ள. 4. To make proficiency, arrive at perfection in a lesson, or in an art, &c., அதிகரிக்க. 5. To be through, accomplished, celebrated, perfect, mature, clear as the mind, to come to perfection, maturity, முதிர. 6. To prove, to result, to amount to--as profit, to turn out clear, பலிக்க. [in gram.] An empatic, ஏ, or மன்ற, as expressive of certainty, emphasis, &c., தேற்றக்குறிப்பு. 4. Recovery from sorrow, &c., as தேற்றரவு. 5. Comfort, as தேறல். 6. Thriving, firmness, good growth, செழிப்பு. ஆள்தேற்றமாயிருக்கிறான். The person has gained strength, flesh, &c. தேற்றக்குறிப்பு--தேற்றப்பொருள், s. See தேற்றல். தேற்றங்கொடுக்க, inf.
