oṭi (p. 81) கிறது, ந்தது, யும், ய, v. a. To break--as a stick, a branch, a bone, &c., break off short, snap off, முறிய. இந்த எழத்தாணிக்கூரொடிந்துபோயிற்று. The point of this style is broken off. ஒடிகை, v. noun. Breaking, a napping off. ஒடியல், v. noun. Breaking, முறி யல். 2. s. [prov.] Young palmyra roots split and dried for food, divested of their fibrous coating, பனங்கிழங்கின்பிளவு. ஒடியல்மா, s. Flour of he palmyra root. ஒடியல்வாலொடிக்க, inf. To break off the end of the palmyra roots after they are dry. ஒடியற்படவு, s. A boat broken on the edge or gunwale. புழுக்கொடியல், s. Palmyra roots boiled and dried. ஒடிவு, v. noun. olli (p. 84) s. A thin person, ஒல்லியா னவன். 2. Thinness, being reduced, மென்மை. 3. [prov.] An empty, blighted cocoanut, உட்பசையில்லாததேங்காய். 4. A broomstick, து டைப்பம். ஒல்லிக்காய்ச்சி, s. A tree that yields, or has yielded blighted cocoanuts. ஒல்லித்தேங்காய்--ஒல்லிமேய்ந்ததே ங்காய், s. [prov.] A blighted, empty cocoanut used as a help in swimming. ஒல்லிமேய, inf. To grow empty, to be blighted as cocoanuts. ஒல்லியாள், s. A thin person, ஒல் லியானவன். 2)

oppumai (p. 83) s. Exact resemblance, similarity, similitude, comparison, சமானம். ஒப்புமைக்கூட்டவணி, s. [in rhetoric.] Enumeration or mention of things similar to the one in view in order to set it in a stronger light, ஓரலங் காரம். ஒப்புமைசெய்ய, inf. To compare. 2)

oṭukku (p. 81) கிறேன், ஒடுக்கினேன், வே ன், ஒடுக்க, v. a. To reduce, compress, bring into a narrower compass, condense, to lessen, bring down--as another's pride, to keep down, keep under, அடக்க. 2. To press, oppress, tyrannize, vex, வருத்த. 3. To reduce the system by medicine or a sparing diet, உடம்பையொடுக்க. 4. To involve one in another--as the elements, cause to disappear--as the worlds, &c., at the close of an age, பூதங்களைலயிக்கச்செய்ய. 5. To close, to finish as a work, the harvest, &c., முடிக்க. 6. To pack in, to put in, to put things close in a bag, a box or other receptacle, செறிக்க. உலகப்பற்றையொவ்வொன்றாயொடுக்க. To relinquish worldly attachments one by one. ஒடுக்கிக்கட்ட, inf. To compress and tie a thing close. 2. To tuck up the skirts and fasten the end behind-as in wet weather. 3. To hem an ola basket, fan, &c. ஒடக்கித்தட்ட, inf. To make a metal utensil thicker and narrower by beating. ஒடுக்கித்தைக்க, inf. To make a garment smaller. ஒடுக்கிவெட்ட, inf. To hew timber reducing the breadth. ஒடுக்குவாய், s. Distorted mouth, கோணல்வாய். வீட்டையொடுக்கிக்கட்ட, inf. To build a house narrow. உடம்பையொடுக்க, inf. To reduce the body by eating sparingly. 2. To contract the body--as a tiger, a cat, &c., to reduce the body to a smaller compass --as in a leaping, sneaking, or creeping posture. செலவையொடுக்க--செலவையொ டுக்கிப்பிடிக்க. inf. To retrench expenses. 2. To live frugally, sparingly, &c. வயிற்றையொடுக்க, inf. To restrain the appetite, to reduce the quantity of food in order to save money. புலனையொடுக்க, inf. To restrain the senses--as ascetics or otherwise; to mortify the senses, passions, &c. 2. To call home the thoughts and fix them on divine things. ஒடுக்கு, v. noun. Contracting, closing, compression, narrowness, அடக் கம். 2. s. A corner to creep into, இடுக்கு. ஒடுக்கிடம், s. A corner, a narrow or confined place, மூலை. 2. A recess, a hiding place, மறைவிடம். ஒடுக்குச்சீட்டு--ஒடுக்குத்துண்டு, s. A receipt given by government for money, வரிச்சீட்டு. பணவொடுக்கு, v. noun. [prov.] A remittance of money. 48)

oḷi (p. 84) க்கிறேன், த்தேன், ப்பேன், க்க, v. a. To hide, conceal, put out of sight, secret, cloak, மறைக்க. 2. To keep a thing unrevealed, to disguise, conceal in the mind, மனதிலடக்க. 3. v. n. To hide, steal away, elope, flee into concealment, lurk unseen, desert, பதுங்கியிருக்க. காரியத்தைச்சொல்லாமலொளித்துப்போட்டான். . . . He has concealed the matter. 2. He has not told the secret. ஒளித்துக்கொள்ள, inf. To conceal one's self, to hide, மறைந்துகொள்ள. 2. To conceal a thing, மறைத்துக்கொள்ள. ஒளித்துத்திரிய, inf. To stray, wander in private, in a state of concealment. ஒளித்துவிளையாட, inf. To play at hide and seek, கண்பொத்திவிளையாட. மோதிரமொளித்துவிளையாடல். The game or play of hiding a ring. ஒளிப்பு, v. noun. Hiding, concealing, concealment, lurking, ஒளிக்கை. 2. Absconding, slinking or stealing away, escaping, desertion, பதுங்குகை. 3. Secret, covert, disguise, மறைவு. ஒளிப்புமறைப்புப்பண்ணாமற்சொல்லு. oṇmai (p. 81) s. Good, goodness, excellence, நன்மை. 2. Brilliancy, splendor, brightness, ஒளி. 3. Beauty, அழகு. 4. Prudence, discretion, wisdom, அறிவு. 5. Flourishing, being luxuriant, rich, full, abundant, plump, மிகுதி. (பாரதி.) 6. Order, regularity, ஒழுங்கு; [ex ஒள்.] (p.) அரிதெனினுமொண்மையிற்றீர்ந்தொழுகலார். Those who swerve not from the path of virtue, although that path is difficult. (நீதிநெறி.) ஒண்கண், s. Dazzling eyes. ஒண்டொடி, s. She who is adorned with shining bracelets. See தொடி. ஒண்பொருள், s. Wealth gotten by equitable means. (வள்ளுவர்.)

orumi (p. 83) க்கிறேன், த்தேன், ப்பேன், க்க, v. n. To agree, be of one accord, be unanimous, ஒருமைப்பட. ஒருமிக்க, inf. [used adverbially.] At once, together, ஒருசேர. ஒருமிக்கப்போக, inf. To go together. ஒருமித்துவாழ, inf. To live in harmony. ஒருமிப்பு, v. noun. Union, concord, harmony, concert, இசைவு. ஒருமிப்பில்லாதகுடியொருமிக்கக்கெடும்.
