tāḷu (p. 236) கிறேன், வேன், தாள, v. n. (imperfect.) To bear, suffer, tolerate, பொறுக்க. (Tel. usage.) இதைக்குறித்துமனந்தாளவேணும். Please overlook this. அந்தச்சரக்குஇந்தவிலைதாளாது. That article will not bear such a price. தாளுந்தாளாது. It may or may not be tolerable. தாளாதவன், appel. n. A man who cannot bear a thing. தாளுதல், v. noun. tāmarai (p. 234) s. The lotus flower, or waterlily, sacred to Brahma, Lukshmi, the sun, &c., கமலம், Nelumbium speciosum. (Willd.) W. p. 372. TAMARASA. There are different kinds--as ஆகாயத்தாமரை, ஓரிலைத்தாமரை, செந்தாமரை, மலைத்்தாமரை, வெண்தாமரை, which see. தாமரைக்கண்ணன், s. Vishnu, as lotuseyed, விஷ்ணு. தாமரைக்காய், s. The pericarp of a lotus. தாமரைக்கிழங்கு, s. Lotus roots, an article of food. தாமரைக்கொட்டை--தாமரைமணி, s. The seeds of the lotus. தாமரைச்சத்துரு, s. A kind of native arsenic, ஓர்பாஷாணம். தாமரைத்தடாகம், s. A tank filed with lotus flowers--very meritorious for bathing. தாமரைநண்பன்--தாமரைநாயகன், s. The sun as lord of the lotus. தாமரைநாளம், s. A winding stalk of the lotus. தாமரைநூல், s. Fibres of the lotus stalk, used with ghee as a wick for lamps, deemed very meritorious and acceptable to Siva. தாமரைப்பூ--தாமரசபுஷ்பம், s. Lotus flower. தாமரைமொட்டு--தாமரைமொக்குள், s. Its flower-bud. தாமரையாசனன், s. Brahma, the lotusseated. தாமரையாசனி--தாமரையாள், s. Lukshmi. தாமரையாள், s. Yellow sulphuret of arsenic. 2. See தாமரையாசனி. தாமரையான், s. An epithet of Brahma, பிரமன். தாமரையிலை, s. The lotus leaves, which are used for spreading food for guests, &c. தாமரையிலைநீர், s. Crystal-like waterdrops on the lotus leaf, ever in motion; (a figure of a troubled mind.) தாமரைவளையம், s. Coils of the lotus stalk. தாமரைவற்றல், s. To be determined, decided, settled, as a law-suit or quarrel; to be passed as a sentence, தீர்மானமாக. 4. To be performed or completed as a duty; to be perfected, finished, நிறைவேற. 5. To leave, quit, cease, pass way, ஓய. 6. To be long, remote, to extend, நீள. 7. To be exhausted, used up, consumed, அற. 8. I cannot come. அவர்கள் பலவந்தம்செய்ததனால் தீராதென்று கொடு டுக்கவேண்டியிருந்தது. By their pressing (he said) it will not cease; it is necessary to give--Note தீராது, in such cases has a peculiar meaning. தாளந்தீர்ந்தான். He finished a tune. அதற்குவர்ணந்தீர்ந்தான். He painted it. இவன்தீர்ந்தசாமி. He is a brave fellow; (lit.) a brave god. (In irony.) தீர்கடை, s. The last end of a thing, termination, conclusion, முடிவு. 2. Absoluteness, entireness, முழுமை. தீர்ந்தகணக்கு. A settled account. தீர்ந்தகள்ளன், s. A finished rogue, a thorough villain, desperate thief. தீர்ந்தசரக்கு, s. (neg. தீராதசரக்கு.) Goods on which duty is paid. 2. Goods bargained for. தீர்ந்தபட்சம், s. The final settlement of accounts, disputes, &c. தீர்ந்தவன், s. A skilful, experienced man; an adept. (Commonly in a bad sense.) தீர்ந்தவேலை, s. A finished work. பட்டைதீர, inf. To give sides to a gem, to a piece of timber, or to a stone, in cutting or polishing. சாயந்தீர்கிறவன், s. A dyer. நவைதீருமாகமம், s. The faultless Agamas. (p.) தீர, inf. [used adv.] Altogether, entirely, perfectly, absolutely, thoroughly, completely, முழுவதும். தீரப்படித்தவனொருவனுமில்லை. There is none perfect in his studies. தீரமறக்க, inf. To forget entirely, altogether. தீராமை, v. noun. (neg.) That which cannot be obviated. தீராநோய்--தீராவியாதி, s. An incurable disease. தீராப்பழி, s. An unpardonable injury. 2. Implacable enmity. தீராவழக்கு, s. A law-suit or dispute which cannot be settled easily. தீராவழக்குக்குத்தெய்வமேசாட்சி.
