It is the second of the ranges dividing the known continent of India into nine Varshas lying south of the Ilavarata or central division, and immediately north of the Himalaya, forming with it the boundary of the Kinnara Varsha, பொன்மலை. ēcl (p. 78) s. A kind of ironical poem, ஓர்பாடல். (p.) 2. Reproachful language, பழிமொழி; [ex ஏசு, v.] ஏசலிட--ஏசலிட்டுக்காட்ட, inf. To blame, reproach; to banter. தாய்மகளேசல், s. A certain poem in which a daughter is reproached by her mother. 8)

[in logic.] The reason alleged in proof of a proposition, one of the three parts of an argument, the other two being பட்சம் and திட்டாந்தம்--as in attributing the existence of smoke to the presence of fire. Wils. p. 979. HETU. ஏதுக்காட்ட, inf. To show reasons, causes, &c., காரணங்காட்ட. ஏதுப்பண்ண, inf. To use means (to attain an object), வகைசெய்ய. ஏதுப்பார்க்க, inf. To seek occasion, opportunity, &c., வகைபார்க்க. ஏதுவாக, inf. To be adapted to; subject or liable to. ஏதுவாக்க, inf. To adapt, suit; to subject, make liable to. ஏதுவானவன், s. A man of property, means, pecuniary ability. ஏதுவிலக்கு, s. A figure in rhetoric --as காரணவிலக்கு. ஏதுவின்முடித்தல், v. noun. Giving the reasons or causes of things asserted by an author as a clue to the subject without extended description. See உத்தி. ஏதுவுருவகம், s. A figure in rhetoric, a kind of metaphor in which the point of resemblance is indicated, உருவகத் திலொன்று--as இவள்மாற்றத்தாற்கிள்ளை, in talk she is a parrot. ஏதுப்போலி--ஏதுவாபாசம், s. Fallacy of the reason of an argument. ஏதுவனுமானம், s. See அனுமா னம். மரணவேதுக்கள், s. Forebodings of death. ஏதிலார், s. [plu.] The poor, the destitute, வறியோர். (p.) 15)

ēr (p. 79) s. A particle of comparison, உவ மையுருபு. 2. Beauty, அழகு. (p.) 3. A team for ploughing, including the plough and other apparatus, உழுபடை. 4. A yoke of oxen, உழவுமாடு. 5. Ploughing the plough-as an occupation, உழவுத்தொழில். அவனிருப்பதேர்க்காரன். He is a person possessed of twenty yoke of oxen. காம்பேர்தோள். Shoulders beautifully rounded like a bamboo. கயலேர்கண்ணார். With how many yoke of oxen does he plough (his land)? i. e. how many yoke of oxen has he? or how many acres of arable land does he possess? ஏராண்மை, s. Ploughing, tillage, agriculture, உழவு. ஏராளர், s. Husbandmen, agriculturists, உழவர். ஏரின்வாழ்நர்--ஏருழவர்--ஏருழுநர் --ஏர்த்தொழிலர், s. Ploughmen, those who live by the plough, உழவர். ஏருழக்க, inf. To practise husbandry, பயிர்செய்ய. ஏரெழுபது, s. A poem of seventy stanzas in praise of the plopugh by கம்பர், ஓர்நூல். See Ellis. p. 44. (குறள்). ஏரோட்ட, inf. To plough, உழ. ஏர்க்கால், s. The shaft of a plough, கலப்பையின்கால். 2. Shaft of a carriage, வண்டியேர்க்கால். ஏர்ச்சீர், s. Implements of husbandry. 2. The wealth procurable by husbandry. ஏர்ச்சீரில்லாதவன். One who has neither oxen, implements of husbandry, nor seed, corn, &c. ஏர்த்தாயம், s. Ploughing in season. ஏர்த்தொழில், s. Agriculture, husbandry, உழவுத்தொழில். ஏர்நாழி, s. A small circular piece of wood with a hole in the centre to receive the cord வடக்கயிறு by which the ploughman can regulate the depth of the furrows, கலப்பையினோருறுப்பு. ஏர்ப்பண், s. [prov.] The rope for attaching the oxen to the plough, or the plough-beam to the yoke, பூட்டாங்க யிறு. ஏர்ப்பூட்டு, v. noun. Ploughing for the first time in the season, on an auspicious day begun with appropriate ceremonies, ஏர்கட்டுகை. ஏர்ப்பூட்ட, inf. To yoke the oxen to the plough. ஏர்வாரம், s. A share of the produce allowed for the team and agricultural implements used in cultivating the land, ஏர்க்காகக்கொடுக்கும்வாரம். முன்னேர்க்குண்டை, s. The first or best yoke of oxen. பின்னேர், s. The second or hindermost yoke of oxen. பொன்னேர்கட்ட, inf. To plough for the first time in the season on an auspicious day begun with the appropriate ceremonies--as ஏர்ப்பூட்ட. 52)
